Introduction

This is something I've dubbed "selective outlining" because there's no word in art that I know of that describes this idea. It can be shortened to "selout" if that floats your boat. While studying lots and lots of sprites, I've noticed a constant pattern in almost every sprite. It's a type of outlining that uses "broken chunks" of lines to help smooth out the sprites. The idea is hard to explain in words alone, so lets dive right in, shall we?
